What MLW will do...

  • Meet with students to discuss industry placements, what is expected, areas they can travel to and all details required to arrange a successful placement

  • Source local employers and brief business managers and directors on what is expected, discuss the aims and objectives of the T Levels qualification and the importance of ‘their part’ in the programme

  • Carry out relevant Health and Safety/Young Persons Risk Assessment with each employer

  • Arrange interviews for students (chaperone if necessary)

  • Assist with completing the necessary paperwork and support with designing the industry placement so students gain valuable experience that links to the T Level syllabus. It is important that practical skills link to core theory studied in the classroom

  • MLW will manage the 45 days (minimum) industry placement and carry out a register and feedback to the relevant provider. This is carried out and recorded on a bespoke attendance portal

  • MLW will monitor students at least once per term (of every 15 days at placement) and carry out a report with the employer and the student. It is a proven fact that monitoring students increases attention rates

  • Once the T Level qualification is completed, MLW will liaise with the employer to discuss possible apprenticeships for the students whom have been in work placement with them

  • Students can continue to higher education or seek apprenticeships or employment

  • MLW will provide each student with a reference

  • MLW produces a termly newsletter for parents, providers and employers
